Difference between S235J0 and S235J2 steel plate

Dec 29, 2025 Mesaj bırakın

S235J0 and S235J2 are common European standard (EN 10025-2) non-alloy structural steels, sharing the same minimum yield strength (235 MPa) and general properties, but differ in their impact toughness test temperature: S235J0 requires 27 Joules (J) of energy at 0℃, while S235J2 requires the same 27J at a colder -20℃, making J2 better for colder environments. Both offer good weldability and are used in general construction, with the 'S' for structural, '235' for yield strength, and the letter suffix (J0, J2) indicating impact test conditions.
